Sports simulators

Sports simulation games are a huge group of video games that include all soccer, basketball, hockey and other simulations of various sports. Most of these games offer to take one particular player or an entire team under their tutelage and then lead them to success by making them legends in their sport.

This is one of the oldest categories, dating back to the advent of Pong. Today you can find a simulator for almost any sport – soccer, basketball, hockey, billiards, rugby, cricket … Sports simulators usually boast realistic animations and good physics. The gameplay is as detailed as possible repeats the real sport. Major projects offer to play for the real stars of sport. Unfortunately, now this subcategory of simulators practically does not evolve. The reason is simple: most of the mechanics are already quite accurately imitate reality.

The leaders here for many years are the same series – FIFA, NBA Live and NHL from Electronic Arts, as well as Pro Evolution Soccer, Tennis World Tour and others.

FOOTBALL .
Among simulators for the world’s most popular sport has long held a dual power. One half of the players adore the FIFA series from EA Sports. Pluses of the product from the Canadian developers are obvious:

A compelling multiplayer mode – players can create and play for their teams, unlocking new sets with players;
A huge and absolutely reliable database of leagues and players, which is supplemented online as soon as changes in real soccer occur;
A huge number of modes; recently there’s even a story mode called Journey, where you have to play and make important decisions for rising soccer star Alex Hunter.

Second part fans are crazy about Pro Evolution Soccer from the Japanese studio Konami. This game has been focusing more on the game for decades:

Ball physics, collision and kicking work, and other technical aspects;
Animation of players’ faces, running and gesticulation;
Realistic graphics and gameplay optimization; c every year the game looks better and better, but the system requirements remain about the same;
Sometimes even a virtual match broadcast in PES is not so easy to distinguish from the TV broadcast.

HOCKEY
Unlike soccer, EA Sports has no worthy competitors in hockey. The company released the first NHL games in the series back on the SEGA. Here’s just a few years simulator released exclusively on Playstation and Xbox – on the controller in a virtual hockey became much more interesting to play, and it greatly influenced the demand among PC owners.

The latest part of the simulator features even more realistic physics of throws and collisions. Plus, just like before, you can have an epic scuffle among goalies.

BASKETBALL
When it comes to eSports, basketball is one of the most exciting games in eSports. This year the NBA teamed up with 2K (makers of the latest basketball simulators) to launch the world’s first cybersports league under the umbrella of a major sports federation.

As a result of the selection process, which took place all over the continent, 102 participants were selected. Then, just like in big sports, all of the cyber athletes were selected in the draft by virtual clubs (with real NBA teams behind them). Each of these guys gets a paycheck from the club and defends his team’s colors every week in official NBA 2K19 league games.

NBA 2K19 Simulator is the best basketball game of all time for one simple reason. It was able to bring people together in virtual reality to create something exciting and cool together in the real world. And it’s worthy of respect.

VOLLEYBALL
As for volleyball in the world of video games, things are very, very sad. As time has shown, the sport was too difficult for its incarnation as a simulator. During the ball drawing and rapid attacks gamer would have to manage several volleyball players at once – and, given the speed of modern volleyball, it is almost impossible to implement such a management.

So ridiculous, for example, looked one of the last variants called International Volleyball 2009.

TENNIS
Tennis simulators started to appear 30 years ago, but only today they finally started to look like sports. In the first versions, instead of players on the court at all were only rackets hanging in the air, and the ball flew across the field at the speed of a turtle.

With the development of physical capabilities of consoles saw the famous game series Sonic Superstars with video game heroes and serious products like Top Spin with real tennis players. Now the coolest tennis game, without a doubt, is Tennis World Tour. If you’ve always wanted to shake hands with Federer, return Maria Sharapova to the top of the world rankings, or simply enjoy tennis in all its glory from the comfort of your couch, this is the game for you.
